Monterose (not to be confused with tenor saxophonist Jack Montrose), worked with Buddy Rich (1952), Claude Thornhilll, Teddy Charles, Jon Eardley, Charles Mingus (on "Pithecanthropus Erectus", 1956) and as a member of Kenny Dorham And The Jazz Prophets.
