Hip Hop group form New Rochelle, New York.
Original members, Grand Puba (aka Detroit Grand Pubahs), Brand Nubian (aka Sadat X), Lord Jamar (aka Lord Jamar), and Alamo formed Brand Nubian in 1989 after Detroit Grand Pubahs's former group, Masters Of Ceremony disbanded.
They signed to Elektra and released the breakthrough album "One for All", most remembered for the sampling of Edie Brickell's 'What I Am' in 'Slow Down'.
