Orchestra consisting of students of the orchestra faculty, is the pride of the conservatory.
Over the years, the Conservatory Orchestra was led by [a=Alexander Melik-Pashayev] and [a=Mikhail Terian], [a=Фуат Мансуров] and [a=Alexander Lazarev].
Until 2008, the orchestra was subdivided into two groups:
- the junior orchestra (artistic director and conductor - Honored Artist of Russia )
- and the senior orchestra (artistic director and conductor - People's Artist of Russia Leonid Nikolaev = ).
Every year, at music festivals organized by the conservatory, these student orchestras perform the most complex symphonic scores, which only highly professional ensembles can do.
Since 2008 has been directing the student symphony orchestra. Since September 1, 2009, the orchestra has united students of 1-3 courses and is divided into two compositions.
