Candoli played with Woody Herman 1943, 1945, 1950, Chubby Jackson 1947-1948, Stan Kenton intermittently 1948, 1950-1953, Charlie Ventura 1949, and Charlie Barnet 1951. Led own group in Chicago 1954, moving to California to play with Howard Rumsey until 1960.
Brother of trumpeter Pete Candoli.
