Barbara Roy

American vocalist.

Born: Kinston, North Carolina, USA.

Roy was the lead vocalist and a principal songwriter in the group [a=Ecstasy, Passion & Pain]. She started with her niece in a singing duo, [a=Barbara And Brenda], then played guitar for Inez and Charlie Foxx (“Mockingbird”) and on various recording sessions in New York until joining Ecstasy, Passion & Pain in 1973.

From 1977 to 1981 Barbara continued with session work. She recorded some solo singles in the mid-1980s, and was in the supergroup [a=Togetherness] in 1989. Since then, her vocals have been sampled in various dance tracks.

Aunt to [a=Brenda Gaskins], and [a=Jocelyn Brown].
