Tom Wilson

Real Name: Thomas Blanchard Wilson Jr.

American record producer.
Born March 25, 1931 in Waco, Texas
Died September 6, 1978 in Los Angeles, California
Best known for his work in the 1960s with [a=Teri Thornton], [a=Bob Dylan], [a=Frank Zappa], [a=Simon & Garfunkel] and [a=The Velvet Underground].

Wilson started the Harvard New Jazz Society in 1953 and founded [l=Transition] Records in 1955, mainly a jazz label which lasted until 1957. He was also a jazz lecturer during this time and supervised many jazz concerts and seminars.
In December 1958, he joined the A & R staff at to produce jazz LP's. Later, he A&R'd at [l=Audio Fidelity] where he started their subsidiary [l=Dauntless], and in 1967 he started [l=Rasputin Production] who produced releases for [l=ABC Records].
