Pussy Galore

American garage noise / punk band from Washington, D.C. formed in 1985 by [a=Jon Spencer] and [a=Julie Cafritz]. After releaing their debut 7", [a=Neil Hagerty] (of [a=Royal Trux]) entered the band. After releasing another EP, the band moved to New York, where [a=Sonic Youth]'s [a=Bob Bert] and Spencer's girlfriend (and future wife) [a=Cristina Martinez] joined the group.

Pussy Galore released four albums and disbanded in 1990. Spencer would then form , and with Martinez. Cafritz would play with [a=Kim Gordon] in [a=Free Kitten], while Bert would join , and Hagerty would continue work with Royal trux.
