Big Nate McCalla was 's right-hand man and vice president of , as well as the owner of a tiny R&B music label backed by Levy named [l=Calla Records]. The label was responsible for [a=Bettye Lavette]'s 1965 Top 20 hit “Let Me Down Easy." Nate McCalla was reportedly killed in a gangland-style murder in 1980.
