Martin Chambers
Real Name: Martin Dale Chambers
Drummer from Hereford, England. b. 04 September 1951
Chambers played with [a=James Honeyman-Scott] (guitar) in a Hereford based live act [a=Cheeks], a band led by former [a=Mott the Hoople] keyboardist [a=Verden Allen].
Cheeks toured extensively for three years without ever recording.
Chambers joined Hereford based musicians Honeyman-Scott and [a=Pete Farndon] (bass) to form [a=The Pretenders] with [a=Chrissie Hynde] in 1978.
In the Autumn of 1981, [a=The Pretenders] cancelled their US+Canada Tour as Chambers had cut his hand, and the injury was so bad that he couldn’t play for a number of weeks. The band decided to postpone the tour rather than replace Chambers.
