John F. Young

John F. Young

Real Name: John Frank Young, Jr.

American rock and roll songwriter. Born 1908. Often associated with Boyd Bennett.

Do NOT confuse with 1800's songwriter John Freeman Young.

Young is best known for co-writing the two songs with Bennett: "My Boy - Flat Top", which charted three times in 1955-56 (#39 U.S. by Boyd Bennett and his Rockets, #16 U.S. by Dorothy Collins and #20 in the U.K. by Frankie Vaughan); and "Seventeen", also co-written by Chuck Gorman. The song hit #72 in the U.S. in 1961 for Frankie Ford.
Most likely related to Nancy Young Roy. BMI IPI #: 33409113.
