Tyrone Williams
Tyrone "Fly Ty" Williams is a pioneering figure in hip-hop and the founder of Cold Chillin' Records, one of the most influential rap labels of the late 1980s and early 1990s. He played a key role in shaping hip-hop’s early commercial success as the co-producer of Mr. Magic's Rap Attack on WBLS, one of the first dedicated rap radio shows. Under his leadership, Cold Chillin' Records became home to legendary artists like Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Kool G Rap & DJ Polo, and Roxanne Shanté. Williams, a Howard University graduate, has remained active in the industry, celebrating Cold Chillin’s legacy and mentoring new talent.
