José Rodriguez mastered many Tom Moulton mixes and TM/JR was often etched in the runoff area. Tom Moulton commented "It was my idea to have that in case a label didn't put Jose's name on the record. I was always there to say I needed more Bass or bring out the backgrounds or the strings were too loud. Mastering is the last opportunity to fix things you didn't get in the mix."
