Goombay Dance Band

German band, founded in the late 1970s by [a=Oliver Bendt], known for combining pop music with the rhythms of the Caribbean. The band's name comes from a small bay on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia.

Since 2008, the music of the Goombay Dance Band has also been influenced by eurodance. In 2016, Oliver Bendt retired and passed the lead vocal scepter to his longtime friend [a=Ernest Clinton], who had collaborated with him since the founding of the group.
