From his childhood lived in a musical climate. His mother was pianist, pupil of . At the age of 5 started to learn piano from his mother and at 6 attempted to compose.

1960 - Emigrated to France, settled in Paris, becoming a French citizen in 1966

1969 - 1974 After some years of guest conducting, was appointed as Principal Conductor for Ulster Orchestra in autumn 1969
1973 - 1975 Was appointed conductor of l'Orchestre de Nord-Picardie à Lille
