Keith McIvor

Keith McIvor was one half of Optimo (2) (or Optimo (Espacio) to give it its full name) in the Sub Club (Glasgow) alongside partner Jonnie Wilkes and former resident DJ at the legendary Pure in Edinburgh. He was renowned for his eclecticism and exceptional mixing skills.

He died on 19th September 2025 after being diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier in the year.

Slightly confusingly he was also half of a production duo called Optimo (Espacio) though this was a pairing with Dave Clark (7) and not Jonnie Wilkes of Optimo (2)

He ran Optimo Music as well as Autonomous Africa

He was also behind the now defunct labels Pi Recordings and T&B Vinyl.

Latterly he was more prolific than ever with mixes for Tigersushi's Kill The DJ Records, Eskimo Recordings, Endless Flight, R & S Records and Fabric (London) and productions under an ever increasing list of aliases.
