Recognized for his original film scores, which include those for [i]Citizen Kane[/i], [i]Vertigo[/i], [i]Psycho[/i], and [i]Taxi Driver[/i]. He has remained uncredited for decades regarding the [i]Suspense[/i] radio show theme aka "The Wailing Theme" which was originally composed by Herrmann for the radio drama series that was broadcast on CBS Radio from 1942 through 1962. He died on the day he finished the score for [i]Taxi Driver[/i].
