Michael Freedman

British conductor - orchestra leader - viola player. Born on 31 August 1911 - Died on 8 August 1979.
He joined the [a=Philharmonia Orchestra] in 1947 as viola player. He formed his own band, [a=Michael Freedman And His Orchestra] in 1949 and [b]Michael Freedman Ladies' Orchestra[/b] in 1956 (both light music orchestras). He left the music business and started a new career as a London taxi driver (late 1960s/early 1970s ?).
