Orchestra was founded in 1969 as the Leningrad State Concert Orchestra (Ленинградский Концертный Оркестр = Leningrad Concert Orchestra).
In 1992 the orchestra was renamed and became a .
[u]In 2013, by decision of the Committee for Culture of St. Petersburg, the orchestra was actually disbanded[/u]. Part of the team went to the new St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, headed by Sergei Stadler = since 2013.
The rest of the group founded the "continuing traditions" collective of the "Petersburg Concert" Variety Symphony Orchestra named after [url=https://www.discogs.com/ru/artist/1634117]A.S. Badkhen[/url].
