Real Name: Desmond "Sonny" Cox
English songwriter of popular songs in the 1930s-40s. He had a long-term songwriting partnership with Harold Elton Box.
Not the same as English singer/songwriter Des Cox.
Born 1903 in London, UK. Died 1966.
Cox was the co-owner of Box and Cox publications, a music publisher based in London's Denmark Street in Soho. Their greatest hit was "I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts". Box and Cox wrote under many pseudonyms, sometimes a new name for just one song.
