Геннадий Черкасов

Gennady Cherkasov (February 23, 1930, Leningrad - September 18, 2002, Moscow) - Soviet conductor, pianist, teacher.
In 1964-1972 he was the conductor of the .
From 1964 to 1972 he was chief conductor of the Moscow Operetta Theatre.
In 1972, he headed the Main Editorial Board of , serving in this position for 24 years.
Since 1984 he has been Artistic Director of , with whom he has toured to many cities in Russia and abroad.
