Gypsy
1970s American progressive rock band from Minnesota. In 1969 The Underbeats, heretofore a popular garage band from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, changed their name to Gypsy, landed the house gig at the Whisky-A-Go Go on The Sunset Strip and played with everyone who came through the club in 1969 and 1970. Keyboardist James Walsh continued the band in various incarnations as The James Walsh Gypsy Band and Calvin James.
