French organist and composer, born 1st March 1880 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, died 15 October 1971.
All his children played organ: married to Magdeleine Alberty, he was the father of organist (1926-2013), organist, composer and musicologist (1918-1994), organist, pianist and soprano Marie-Odile Alain (1914-1937), and organist and composer (1911-1940)
