American producer known for his work with artists such as , and . Ran [l=United Artists Records]' jazz department from 1960 to 1964, worked for from 1964 to 1965 (when the label folded) and established around 1967. Worked with towards the end of his career, but the posthumous releases he supervised became controversial, and the Hendrix estate eventually regained rights to the masters. Brother of .
