Big Strick

Real Name: Leonard Strickland ii

Big Strick is a Detroit-based producer and DJ deeply rooted in the city's rich electronic music tradition. A cousin of Omar S and founder of 7 Days Entertainment, Big Strick emerged in the late 2000s with a raw, analog-driven sound that fuses deep house, techno, and soulful minimalism. His music is marked by hypnotic drum patterns, gritty synth textures, and a relentless commitment to authenticity.

Big Strick first gained attention with the 2009 EP “100% Hustler” on FXHE, and shortly after began releasing on his own imprint. Since then, he's built a respected catalog of vinyl releases, including standout albums like “Detroit Heat”, and “Family Affair”. His records are known for their stripped-down grooves and emotional depth, earning plays in underground scenes from Berlin to Tokyo.

As a producer and mentor, Big Strick has been instrumental in launching the careers of his sons—Generation Next and Butterbandz—who now produce and perform under the 7 Days Entertainment banner. With a no-frills approach and a deep love for the culture, Big Strick continues to represent the uncompromising soul of Detroit music.
