Born 3 February 1961 in Tucson, Arizona, USA.
Married to songwriter Frank Wildhorn (1998-2004, divorce).
She won the talent show Star Search in 1988 after winning for an unprecedented 12 straight weeks. From it, she got her major break starring in the Broadway musical Jekyll & Hyde, composed by her soon-to-be husband. For it, she won the Theatre World Award winner for best debut performance.
