
Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra
Real Name: 東京都交響楽団
The [b]Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra[/b] ([b]TMSO[/b]), also known as [i]Tōkyo-to Kōkyō Gakudan[/i], is a Japanese orchestra, founded in 1965 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to commemorate the 1964 Summer Olympics. TMSO regularly performs at [l=Tokyo Bunka Kaikan], [l=Suntory Hall, Tokyo], and other prestigious venues. The orchestra is particularly known for performing works by [a=Gustav Mahler]. Apart from the classical repertoire, TMSO recorded [i]Dragon Quest[/i] soundtracks in collaboration with [a=Kouichi Sugiyama], as well as a few anime and film scores.
